Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all team members, including at least two direct reports and subcontracted personnel associated with the specific project segment.

Manage daily crew assignments, including scheduling, task allocation, and attendance tracking.

Monitor the progress of work performed by the team and validate hours for payroll processing.

Assign tasks and responsibilities, while instructing, guiding, and supervising the crew effectively.

Engage in the orientation, training, coaching, performance evaluations, and employment decisions concerning crew members (e.g., promotions, transfers, separations).

Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and quality standards.

Supervise the crew's operation of machinery and equipment, ensuring that necessary resources are readily available.

Assist the Superintendent in compiling reports related to work progress and safety measures.

Document and report on materials and time used.

Basic computer proficiency is required.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

Oversee the execution of safety orientations and provide coaching for improvement.

Implement strategies to adhere to project timelines and budget constraints. The Supervisor will be responsible for establishing cuts and fills, planning haul routes, maintaining haul roads, and collaborating with inspectors to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Conduct rough and fine grading as necessary to fulfill project requirements.

Record and monitor production quantities.

Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or Management Team.

Work Requirements:

Proficient in operating various types of heavy equipment for earthwork and site projects.

Knowledgeable in earthmoving activities, including excavation, grading, surveying, and final excavation work. Experience is required in Bulk Dirt Grading, Excavation, and Large Excavation/Fine Grading.

Experience in operating machinery and training others on equipment operation.

Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Must be at least 18 years old.

Successful completion of a drug screening is mandatory.

A valid driver's license is required.

Preference for candidates with a High School Diploma.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within construction is preferred.

Five or more years of prior experience in heavy civil construction is required.

Experience in grade checking to meet project plans and specifications using various methods, including GPS, rotating lasers, stakes, and cut sheets.

Fundamental understanding of GPS technology as it pertains to grading.

Thorough knowledge and practical experience with DOT standards and regulations.

Effective communication skills with workers and subcontractors are essential.

Ability to work overtime and adapt to flexible hours (day/night).

Must effectively communicate information to others.

Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Physical capability to perform activities requiring significant use of arms, legs, and full body movement, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Supervisors may be required to operate equipment or perform ground work as necessary to achieve productivity targets.

Attention to detail is crucial.

Knowledge of safety procedures and practices is essential.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
