Your impact as a Home Health Aide

Home Health Aide Qualifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
  • In states where licensure is not mandatory (AL, FL, MI, MT, NM, TX), candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
    • Already possess a license/certification as an aide; or
    • Have completed a state-approved nurse aide training program and have been continuously employed in that role for the last 24 months
  • Current CPR certification is required.
State-Specific Requirements

Indiana

  • Aides must be registered on the Indiana Nurse Aide Registry; licensure is not required.

Kansas

  • Certification is required to practice as an aide in the state.

Oklahoma

  • Certification must be obtained within four months of employment as a home health or home care aide.

Wisconsin

  • Aides must be certified and listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry.
