Robert Bosch Group is in search of a seasoned professional to oversee the company's strategy for state and local governmental affairs in the United States. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Bosch business units, site leaders, communications teams, federal government affairs, and the legal department to identify and promote company priorities at the state and local levels, with a strong focus on building and maintaining relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the director of Government Affairs and the broader team to promote public policy initiatives for Bosch in critical states and communities across the U.S.
- Establish and nurture relationships with essential external stakeholders at the state and local levels to support and expand Bosch's investments and operations in the U.S. This may involve engagement on matters such as economic development, incentive programs, technology hubs, and industry transition strategies.
- Proactively identify, monitor, and evaluate significant issues and legislation at the state level, developing strategies and outreach plans as necessary.
- Maintain ongoing communication with business units to ensure internal stakeholders are informed about relevant state actions.
- In collaboration with the legal department, provide guidance to business units on policy and regulatory issues that may affect product and service development or deployment.
- Actively participate in state government affairs committees of Bosch's trade and industry associations, sharing insights with internal stakeholders to inform overall positioning and recommend actions when necessary.
- Work closely with Bosch site leaders to devise and implement local engagement strategies, including representation and involvement in the community.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 7+ years of experience in state and local government relations, with established connections in state government offices
- Direct experience in lobbying or advocacy efforts
- Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities, demonstrating speed, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel domestically approximately 20-25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, managing diverse priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in consensus-building among multiple stakeholders.
- Results-driven attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
- Desire to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, both virtually and in-person.
- Outstanding judgment and discretion.
Salary Range: $128-152K
