Key Responsibilities

The Ultrasound Technologist is expected to possess comprehensive knowledge of human anatomy, patient positioning, and ultrasound imaging technology. This professional must exhibit proficiency in ensuring optimal image quality and effectively communicate the procedures to patients to alleviate their concerns. A solid understanding of Radiographic Positioning, Radiographic Technique, Radiation Safety, Imaging Equipment, Infection Control, and Quality Control protocols is essential. The technologist is responsible for maintaining a safe and hazard-free work environment and should engage with patients, physicians, colleagues, and other staff members in a courteous and supportive manner. Routine diagnostic imaging studies must be performed as required, with flexibility in work schedules to accommodate varying patient needs. The patient demographic served by Norton Healthcare includes neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, necessitating the delivery of services to all patients, families, and healthcare providers involved in their care.

Qualifications

Required:
  • One of the following credentials: RDMS, ARRT (S), or RVS - Credential must be obtained within one year of employment.
Desired:
  • Minimum of one year of experience in ultrasound.
