The Ultrasound Technologist is expected to possess a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy, patient positioning, and ultrasound imaging technology. This professional must exhibit expertise in image quality and effectively communicate the procedure details to patients to alleviate their concerns. A solid grasp of Radiographic Positioning, Radiographic Technique, Radiation Safety, Imaging Equipment, Infection Control, and Quality Control practices is essential. The technologist will assist in ensuring a safe and hazard-free work environment and maintain a courteous and supportive demeanor towards patients, physicians, colleagues, and other department personnel. The Ultrasound Technologist will conduct routine diagnostic imaging examinations as required, with flexibility in work hours. The patient demographic within the Norton Healthcare system includes neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for delivering services to all patients, families, and healthcare providers involved in their care.
Qualifications
Required:
- One of the following credentials: RDMS, ARRT (S), or RVS - Must achieve certification within one year of employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in ultrasound.
