The role of the Diagnostic Sonographer is crucial in delivering high-quality imaging services within the Norton Healthcare system. This professional is expected to possess an extensive understanding of human anatomy, optimal patient positioning, and the operation of ultrasound imaging technology.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Exhibit proficiency in imaging techniques and ensure superior image quality.
2. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate any concerns they may have.
3. Demonstrate knowledge in Radiographic Positioning, Radiographic Technique, and Radiation Safety.
4. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to Infection Control and Quality Control protocols.
5. Perform routine diagnostic imaging studies as required, adapting to varied work schedules.
6. Provide services to a diverse patient demographic, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
Qualifications:
Required:
- One of the following credentials: RDMS, ARRT (S), or RVS, with the expectation to obtain certification within one year of employment.
Desired:
- A minimum of one year of experience in ultrasound imaging.
