About the Role

Family Health Centers of San Diego is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional healthcare to our patients, particularly those from underserved communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend in-services and complete make-up assignments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Waive Testing and Phlebotomy procedures with precision and care.
  • Follow established policies and procedures to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, and assist providers as needed.
  • Support provider productivity by managing clinic flow, scheduling patient follow-up appointments, and communicating referral information.
  • Respond to voicemails, route messages, and return phone calls in a timely manner.
  • Record patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
  • Administer medications, including injections, as needed.
  • Collect and handle laboratory specimens appropriately.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Medical Assistant diploma from an approved course.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Current American Heart Association healthcare provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advance Resuscitation Training.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in ambulatory care settings or similar environments.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal interactions with clients and co-workers.
  • Basic computer literacy and organizational skills.
  • Multi-lingual skills, particularly in English, Spanish, Arabic, and Somali, are highly valued.
Working Conditions

This role requires standing, walking, and repetitive use of hands. The ability to lift up to 75 pounds is not required. The work environment is fast-paced, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care.

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $29.20 per hour, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience.
