Job Overview

Mittera Group is seeking skilled Cutter Operators to enhance our Finishing department. These professionals are responsible for the precise setup, adjustment, and safe operation of cutting machinery. They ensure that products are prepared for packing, collating, or binding, while adhering to customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and fine-tune cutting machines according to job specifications and guidelines.
  • Input automatic cutting programs into the machinery as required.
  • Operate cutting equipment and related tools to achieve specified material dimensions.
  • Assess product quality during the cutting process and make necessary adjustments.
  • Review job documentation and strategize work processes to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of production sheets, including dates and quantities.
  • Supervise machine operations to ensure compliance with specifications and implement adjustments as necessary.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including blade changes, lubrication, and equipment cleaning.
  • Report mechanical or electrical issues to supervisors and complete maintenance requests as needed.
  • Prepare load flags for outgoing shipments indicating the next steps or destinations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant cutting experience is preferred.
  • Strong ability to comprehend work instructions and business communications.
  • Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and measurements, to solve practical challenges.
  • Adept at interpreting various forms of instructions, whether written, verbal, or diagrammatic.
  • Capable of preventing errors and troubleshooting issues on prepress machines.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Organized and capable of planning, prioritizing, and executing assigned projects with minimal oversight.
Physical Requirements
  • Must utilize proper body mechanics when pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires fine motor skills and coordination for hand and arm movements.
  • Near visual acuity is necessary.
  • Must be able to navigate and access all areas of the facility.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in high-stress situations.
Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, employees may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and occasionally hazardous materials. Production staff frequently work near moving mechanical components.
