Job Title: Controller - Non-Profit

At Kenneth Copeland Ministries, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with IRS requirements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and providing strategic financial guidance to the Executive Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily operations of the accounting department and mail processing department.
  • Ensure all systems and processes for mail processing are efficient and accurate.
  • Oversee departmental budgets, financial strategy, and planning.
  • Analyze, understand, and present financial reports to the Executive Team on a monthly basis and upon special request.
  • Contribute to the direction and implementation of the overall ministry plan.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS requirements, GAAP, and other not-for-profit best practices.
  • Forecast and manage cash flow.
  • Formulate financial policy and plans, ensuring that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet short- and long-term objectives.
  • Evaluate strategic opportunities.
  • Interface with the IT Department to ensure appropriate systems and controls are in place to support the ministry.
  • Ensure adequate accounting controls and services.
  • Manage ministry investments. Establish and maintain relationships with financial institutions.
  • Ensure corporate structure is optimized for KCM and all subsidiaries.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • Minimum of 10 years direct experience in the financial field, including the areas of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Five years managerial experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to positively impact the bottom line.
  • Working knowledge of related tax legislation and regulations.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • An experienced leader with strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Forward thinking, well-organized, and self-directed individual and a team player.
  • Project management skills.
  • Working knowledge of functional areas reporting to this position as well as operational understanding and skills.
  • Effective manager with a proven track record.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in using Financial Systems referred.
  • Proficient 10-key skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop knowledge, skills, and abilities of team members to enhance their probability of success.
  • Must have working knowledge of non-profit and international organizations.
Equipment to be Used:
  • Standard office equipment, including, but not limited to: calculator, computer, fax machine, telephone, copier, and printer.
Typical Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to sit at a computer for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
  • Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
  • Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move, or carry equipment.
  • Must be able to travel via air carrier to KCM events.
