Role Summary

The primary responsibility of the Outbound Logistics Coordinator is to effectively plan and manage shipments departing from our warehouse or distribution center.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement and uphold the Company's safety, health, and environmental protocols for team members under your guidance, ensuring adherence to safe work practices and environmental protection as per Company policies and regulations.
  2. Demonstrate commitment to the Company's principles and procedures, including Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and security measures.
  3. Oversee all outbound order fulfillment activities within the warehouse, which includes:
    • Identifying groups of outbound shipments for processing.
    • Scheduling pick waves for warehouse staff.
    • Prioritizing waves for efficient picking.
    • Generating shipping labels and coordinating their distribution to outbound team members.
  4. Collaborate with the Outbound and Replenishment teams to ensure smooth outbound operations and address any potential bottlenecks in the picking process.
  5. Coordinate with outbound associates to guarantee timely picking and staging of all shipments.
  6. Maintain an organized Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure all orders are processed on a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) basis with prompt turnaround.
  7. Monitor inventory levels in picking locations and initiate replenishment requests as necessary.
  8. Consistently uphold a safe and tidy work environment.
  9. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in warehouse operations and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as Red Prairie or Softeon is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, capable of thriving in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Proficient problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think quickly on your feet.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to engage with diverse personalities.
  • Flexibility to work first shift and overtime as needed.
Education:
  • Some college education is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience:
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in managing shipping and outbound warehouse functions.
Physical Requirements:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Capable of reading and writing.
  • Good physical condition is essential.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 to 30 lbs.
  • Skill in handling and operating equipment such as hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Adept at navigating through busy warehouse aisles and around equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions typical of warehouse settings.
