Role Summary:

As a Survey Party Chief, you will take charge of field survey crews, managing and executing diverse surveying activities while ensuring the precision and thoroughness of survey data. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in land surveying, outstanding leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering superior results.

Key Duties:

  • Guarantee effective and precise data acquisition.
  • Conduct boundary surveys, topographic assessments, and construction staking in accordance with project specifications.
  • Utilize and maintain surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS units, and data collection devices.
  • Execute field calculations and validate survey data for accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to meet project objectives.
  • Mentor and train survey crew members, offering insights on surveying methodologies and best practices.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and company protocols during field operations.
  • Maintain organized and precise field notes, sketches, and project documentation.
  • Assist in the creation of survey reports, drawings, and other deliverables.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and technologies to improve surveying capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree in surveying or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Survey Party Chief role.
  • Proficient in operating surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
  • Strong grasp of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel as necessary.
  • Familiarity with relevant surveying software and applications.
  • Understanding of local and state regulations concerning land surveying.
