Job Title: Safety Manager

The Tsui Group is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee construction activity on behalf of the client, ensuring compliance with regulatory and contract safety requirements.
  • Monitor and report on contractor safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections and reviews of work in progress, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
  • Support the Program Safety Manager in attending meetings, providing safety reports and analysis, and reviewing upcoming construction schedules for hazard preparedness.
  • Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety reports for all site visits.
  • Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Reports to the College Project Manager.
  • Review and verify contractor safety submittals, JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry, and hazard assessments for high-risk operations.
  • Participate in safety stand-downs, prepare and submit lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager, and document safety orientations with contractor safety representatives.
  • Monitor adherence to zero-tolerance and corrective action policies for workers not in compliance with the Program's safety policy.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in construction safety.
  • Minimum 5 years of managing multiple projects in different stages of construction at multiple job site locations.
  • Minimum 5 years of field experience as a Construction Safety Consultant working with General Contractors and Subcontractors.
  • Experience working with OCIP and DSA.
  • Experience with Safety Management for Public Sector Construction.
  • Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER, OSHA 500, First Aid/CPR/AED, and SMS or CSMC certifications.
  • Experience on modernization-type projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint disturbance.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with senior safety management on large building programs across multiple sites.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related spreadsheet and database software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Construction management, safety management, safety engineering, or related degree.
  • Additional safety/health certifications and credentials as appropriate for this position.
Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $108,000-$113,000.
