Safety Manager

Citadel CPM is seeking a highly experienced Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, contractors, and clients on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities- Perform management oversight of construction activity on behalf of the client, reporting on contractor regulatory and contract safety compliance on multiple project sites.
- Monitor compliance to all current OSHA requirements that relate to the specific construction projects.
- Conduct daily safety reviews of work in progress in accordance with current Safety Regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Monitor adherence to Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP) requirements and procedures.
- Support the Program Safety Manager, including attending meetings and providing safety reports and analysis as requested.
- Attend construction meetings with the project team and general contractor, leading the safety topic and reporting on site observations.
- Perform ongoing construction site safety inspections and generate daily safety reports for all site visits.
- Submit weekly Project Health Safety and Environmental Observation Reports to the Project Manager.
- Review contractor safety submittals, JHA, MOP, Fall Protection Plans, Crane Lift Plans, Excavation and Scaffold Erecting Plans, Confined Space Entry, and hazard assessments of other high-risk operations.
- Review contractor incident reports, participate in safety stand-downs, and prepare and submit lessons learned to the Program Safety Manager.
- Perform and document safety orientation with contractor safety representatives.
- Monitor adherence to zero-tolerance and corrective action policies for workers found not in compliance with the Program's safety policy.
- Be flexible in schedule and transportation to work at multiple sites based on assigned schedule and duties throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, establish daily work priorities, and perform oversight at multiple active construction projects.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction safety.
- Minimum 5 years of managing multiple projects in different stages of construction at multiple job site locations.
- Minimum 5 years of field experience as a Construction Safety Consultant working with General Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Experience working with OCIP.
- Experience with DSA.
- Experience with Safety Management for Public Sector Construction.
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Current OSHA 500 certification.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
- Minimum of holding a valid Safety Management Specialist (SMS) certificate issued by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC) certificate issued by the National Association of Safety Professionals (NASP).
- Experience on modernization-type projects involving asbestos and lead-based paint disturbance.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with senior safety management with large building programs across multiple sites.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related spreadsheet and database software.
- Construction Management, Safety Management, Safety Engineer, or related degree is preferred.
- Additional safety/health certifications and credentials as appropriate for this position.
