Job Summary

As a Clinical Expertise Leader in the Gastroenterology/Hepatology department at the University of California, Davis Health, you will provide independent advanced practice provider clinical expertise to patients and their families on an ongoing basis. You will oversee other advanced practice practitioners, managing scheduling, time off requests, and organizational oversight to ensure the competence and qualifications of direct reports. This role requires collaboration with the APP manager, contributing to hiring, onboarding, and counseling decisions. You will act as an expert resource person for healthcare providers, including nurses, residents, and ancillary staff, and participate in gastroenterology/hepatology teaching programs. You will provide direct patient care to a diversified patient population, applying knowledge, experience, and judgment to determine the importance of a situation, set priorities, and use abstract thought to evaluate clinical situations. You will participate in patient and staff education, demonstrate leadership skills, and demonstrate accountability for your own practices as defined by the Nurse Practice Act.
