Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Technician at ASI is responsible for hands-on electro-mechanical assembly and light fabrication tasks associated with the production and installation of simulation and training devices. This role focuses on mechanical fabrication, requiring a diverse skill set to contribute effectively to the team.
Key Responsibilities- Execute tasks as per engineering drawings and instructions documented on Job Tickets and Work Instructions.
- Interpret and understand mechanical fabrication and assembly engineering drawings.
- Utilize hand tools and fabrication machinery for light fabrication tasks.
- Conduct bench sub-assembly and upper-level device assembly using appropriate tools and equipment.
Experience Levels:
- Entry Level: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Mid Level: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
- Senior Level: 5+ years of relevant experience.
Candidates should have experience in producing electrical assemblies or mechanical fabrications, preferably in a military production context. Certification in specialty assembly practices such as soldering or welding is preferred, or candidates should be willing to obtain necessary certifications.
Required SkillsManufacturing Technicians should possess:
- Knowledge of reading electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Experience with basic mechanical hand tools and fabrication techniques.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work EnvironmentThe working conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment, requiring the use of safety equipment and adherence to safety protocols. The role may involve teamwork and collaboration with other staff members.
