Welder - Ditch Witch

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our team at Ditch Witch. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for welding components used to build our equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documents to ensure accurate assembly and welding.
- Set up fixtures, mount parts, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
- Operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components, ensuring high-quality results.
- Inspect and test weldments to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Use a computer to track inventory, routing, and record transactions.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Appropriate MIG welding experience or completion of a formal welding training program.
- Pass a required entry-level plate test for production welding.
- Strong mechanical skills, including experience with hand and air-powered tools.
- Excellent reading, clerical, and basic math skills.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant conditions, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt.
- Use of personal protective equipment, including a welding hood, gloves, and sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection.
- Physical hazards, including powered vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling.
- Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.
- A variable work schedule, with overtime paid after 40 hours per week, and some scheduled work on Saturdays.
Essential Physical Functions:
The physical demands for this job are classified as medium and include:
- Handling items weighing over 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
- Handling pull or push items up to 50 pounds.
- Handling items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
- Handling items up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
- Frequent walking, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
- Continuous walking.
- Occasional sitting and elevated work.
