Welder - Ditch Witch

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at Ditch Witch. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for welding components used to build our equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documents to ensure accurate assembly.
- Set up fixtures, mount parts, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
- Operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components, ensuring high-quality results.
- Remove components from fixtures, clean, and inspect them for quality, making any necessary corrections.
- Use a computer to check part locations, inventory, and routing, as well as record inventory transactions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Appropriate MIG welding experience or completion of a formal welding training program.
- Pass a required entry-level plate test for production welding.
- Strong mechanical skills, including experience with hand and air-powered tools.
- Good reading, clerical, and basic math skills.
This role requires working in a manufacturing plant environment with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt. Personal protective equipment, including a welding hood, gloves, and sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection, is required. The job involves physical hazards, such as powered vehicle and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling. Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases, is also a requirement.
Physical DemandsThis job requires frequent walking, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing. Continuous walking and occasional sitting and elevated work are also required. The physical demands of this job are classified as medium, with the ability to handle items weighing over 60 pounds from floor to knuckle, handle pull or push items up to 50 pounds, and handle items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
