Job Summary:

The Toro Company is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in the manufacturing of Ditch Witch equipment. As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding components used to build our equipment, ensuring high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and other documents to understand welding requirements.
  • Set up fixtures, mount parts, and perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
  • Operate MIG welding equipment to weld machine components, ensuring accurate and efficient welding processes.
  • Remove components from fixtures, clean, and inspect them for quality, making any necessary corrections.
  • Use a computer to check part locations, inventory, routing, and record inventory transactions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Appropriate MIG welding experience or completion of a formal welding training program.
  • Pass a required entry-level plate test for production welding.
  • Appropriate mechanical skills, including experience with hand and air-powered tools.
  • Reading, clerical, and basic math skills.

Work Environment:

The manufacturing plant environment is indoors, with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt. Personal protective equipment is required, including a welding hood, gloves, and sleeves, safety glasses, face shields, and hearing protection. Physical hazards include powered vehicles, sharp objects, moving machinery, electrical arc-welding equipment, and materials handling. Working with hazardous materials, including solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases, is also required.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to handle items weighing over 60 pounds from floor to knuckle.
  • Ability to handle pull or push items up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to handle items up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder.
  • Ability to handle items up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
  • Frequent walking, twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing.
  • Continuous walking.
  • Occasional sitting and elevated work.
