Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be an emerging authority, leveraging extensive technical knowledge to tackle design challenges and deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complex Task Management: Engage in highly intricate project systems that necessitate original and innovative solutions, overseeing the development lifecycle from inception to completion.
  • Project Planning: Conduct technical planning, provide estimates, monitor progress, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Impact and Scope: Deliver results that are crucial for the successful execution of major projects and programs.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to junior technical staff.
  • Independent Work: Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and sound judgment in work methods and goal interpretation.
  • Technical Documentation: Contribute significantly to proposal writing and design review documentation.
  • Peer Review Participation: Actively engage in peer reviews to enhance technical development.
  • Design Leadership: Lead electrical engineering designs through the complete design cycle, including schematic capture, design evaluations, interconnections, and PCB layout, while participating in design reviews and comprehensive functional testing.

Technical Expertise:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of industry best practices.
  • Develop innovative solutions to unique engineering challenges.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Systematic RCCA processes and the ability to generate RCCA reports for clients.
  • Recognized for professional abilities and technical achievements within the organization and the broader professional community.
  • Craft strategic technical pathways to secure significant follow-on business opportunities.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • Effectively mentor and train team members, leading work groups within the department.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to diverse audiences and produce persuasive proposals and reports with comprehensive supporting materials.
  • Facilitate resolution of differing technical opinions among team members and clients.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Digital Design, particularly with military or space programs.
  • Proficient in design capture, simulation, and debugging tools, especially OrCAD Schematic Capture and Altium Designer.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard bus architectures such as VME, cPCI, and PCIe is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA) and Electrical Parts Stress Analysis (EPSA).
