Painter - Facility Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our facilities maintenance team at East Tennessee Children's Hospital. As a Painter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of painting and refinishing activities to maintain the aesthetic appeal of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Plans and performs painting and refinishing activities as required for facility maintenance
- Ensures maintenance of facility aesthetics
- Works effectively and efficiently from written requisitions or verbal instructions
- Prioritizes urgency of job requests correctly
- Correctly installs wallboard, ceramic and floor tile, and wall covering in indicated areas
- Selects and mixes appropriate materials for painting
- Cleans and prepares wall covering in damaged areas
- Safely uses and correctly disposes paints and solvents
- Detects and reports defective material and unusual conditions to supervisor
- Maintains tools, equipment, and work area in a safe, clean and orderly condition
- High School Diploma/GED Preferred
- Valid TN Driver License
- 2 years experience in drywall and painting
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to crawl into small spaces and work from ladders
Light lifting, pushing and pulling is required for 10-20 lbs occasionally and frequent moving of objects of less than 10 lbs is required. Frequent sitting with some walking, standing, squatting, bending and reaching is required. Keyboard/computer use and/or repetitive motions may be required.
