Facilities Maintenance Specialist

At the Helen Ross McNabb Center, we are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, logging and tracking helpdesk requests, and meeting with vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of light tubes, fixtures, and electrical components.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections for buildings and report any safety issues.
- Monitor and report any facility items needing addressed, including ceiling tiles, lights, trip hazards, and pest issues.
- Ensure all annual inspections for the buildings have been completed in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of CARF and Licensure requirements for facilities.
- Minor construction, demolition, and repair of walls when needed.
- Knowledge of vehicle policies and safety requirements.
- Assist with oil changes for facilities with center vehicles.
- Assist with fire drills.
- Participate in on-call as needed.
- Ensure all monthly PM's are completed timely.
- Avoid real or perceived conflicts of interest.
- Report all violations of policy or code of ethics.
- Work all tickets assigned timely and with accuracy.
- Assist with moves, putting together furniture, and new building startups and shutdowns.
- Ensure that all HRMC Emergency calls are responded to.
- Required to contact supervisor with an update on emergency calls before leaving job site property.
- Required to answer work phone or respond back within 30 minutes.
- Ensure that vehicle assigned to technician is maintained.
- Required to maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
- Observe all safety practices from wearing PPE to being aware of you and your team's safety.
- Conduct all work in a courteous and professional manner.
- Leave all work areas clean of tools and debris, to ensure the safety of all clients and staff.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Three years' experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Knowledge of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC systems, construction materials, and general construction techniques.
Working Conditions:
- Normal facility operations environment.
- Must have a valid Tennessee driver's license.
- Normal/corrected eyesight.
- Hearing within normal range.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Must be able to climb ladder.
