Job Description

This position involves providing healthcare services to students in a school setting, assessing and responding to health concerns, and collaborating with parents and staff members to develop individualized healthcare plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Health Assessments and Care: Conduct thorough assessments of students' health concerns, injuries, and illnesses, providing prompt care and referrals as needed.
  • Healthcare Planning: Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with specific medical needs, working closely with parents/guardians and other healthcare providers.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential health records, including immunization records, health assessments, and documentation of healthcare services provided.
  • Health Education: Educate students, parents, and staff on health-related topics, including preventive care, hygiene practices, and emergency procedures.
Requirements:
  • Licensure and Certification: Valid Licensed Practical Nurse license in Pennsylvania required.
  • Experience: Minimum 1+ years nursing experience, preferably in a school, pediatric, or related healthcare setting.
  • Clinical Skills: Strong clinical skills, including first aid, medication administration, and assessment of common childhood illnesses and injuries.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
