Job Summary

As a Patient Service Representative at Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and support. This position requires a high level of clerical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serves as a concierge, greeting and communicating with patients or visitors.
  • Performs clerical functions, including answering practice phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, ordering supplies, generating patient letters, and processing mail and supply deliveries.
  • Responsible for identifying and reminding patients of health maintenance gaps.
  • Documents patient phone calls in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for call routing and resolution.
  • Performs patient registration and check-in, confirming patient demographic and insurance information, and assisting patients with self-registration and arrival.
  • Maintains patient medical records according to standards, uploading Right Fax documents into EPIC, and performs basic EMR/EHR scanning.
  • Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures, completing all position and unit safety-related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or other related experience.
  • Vocational/Technical One year certificate from college or technical school (based on Corewell Health entity and department).
