Job Summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our construction team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment used in construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Inspections: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and cranes.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and ensure all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
  • Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols and ensure all equipment meets safety standards.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with operators and other team members to identify and resolve equipment issues.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics, and proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, and certification or vocational training in heavy equipment mechanics is preferred.
