Carter Machinery Company, the authorized dealer for a leading heavy equipment brand, is seeking skilled Field Service Technicians to support our operations. Our technicians are responsible for servicing a wide range of heavy machinery, including earthmoving and forestry equipment. They travel to various job sites to diagnose issues and execute repairs in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain systems based on their expertise. We offer flexible shift options, including 1st, 2nd, and weekend shifts, with some positions available for 3-day and 4-day workweeks.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair. Experience with related machinery, military diesel training, or completion of a diesel or mechanical vocational program in fields such as automotive, electrical, or HVAC is highly valued. A high school diploma or GED is required. To qualify for the $5,000 sign-on bonus, candidates must have a minimum of three years of relevant field experience. Those with less than three years may still qualify for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, distributed in two equal payments at 90 and 180 days of employment.

Key requirements for our Field Service Technician roles include:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong mechanical skills and a passion for learning.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn service software for report completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Capability to read and interpret operating manuals.
  • A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a clean driving record, with the ability to obtain DOT certification.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed based on job demands.

Physical requirements for the Field Service Technician positions include the ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds, as well as perform tasks that involve reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing around various heavy equipment.
