Custodian 2nd Shift Grade 1

WORK SCHEDULE:
Year Round: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (Monday through Friday)

COMPENSATION: $20.27/hr. (Grade 1) after the probationary period.
(During the probationary period, the wage rate will be $2.00 less per hour)

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of one year of experience in cleaning and maintenance routines.

Physical capability to perform assigned tasks, including the ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, crawl in tight spaces, shovel, work at heights of 15 to 20 feet, lift and carry objects weighing at least 100 lbs (with assistance), and operate various cleaning, snow removal, and lawn care equipment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Head Custodian in ensuring the school facilities and grounds are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.

Key duties include sweeping and mopping floors in designated areas; cleaning windows and glass surfaces; checking and replacing light bulbs as necessary; assisting with furniture and equipment relocation; performing minor repairs; maintaining proficiency with all required janitorial equipment; aiding in emergency cleanups; reporting observed issues such as vandalism; assisting with snow removal at building entrances when necessary; supporting cafeteria operations daily; and executing any other related tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian or Plant Operations Supervisor.
