SALARY RANGE: $20.27/hr. (Grade 1) after a 90-day probationary period. (During the probationary period, the wage rate will be $2.00 less per hour)
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in cleaning operations.
Physical capability to execute assigned tasks, which includes the ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, navigate confined spaces, shovel, work at heights of 15 to 20 feet, lift and carry items weighing at least 100 lbs (with assistance), and operate various cleaning, snow removal, and lawn care equipment, as well as construction and maintenance-related adhesives and products.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Head Custodian in ensuring the school premises and surroundings are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors in designated areas; cleaning windows and glass surfaces; checking and replacing light bulbs as necessary; assisting with the relocation of furniture and equipment; performing minor repairs; routinely maintaining and demonstrating proficiency with all required cleaning equipment; aiding in emergency cleanups; reporting observed issues such as vandalism; assisting with snow removal near entrances when necessary; supporting daily cafeteria operations; and executing any other job-related tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian or Plant Operations Supervisor.
