Year Round: 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (Monday through Friday)
START DATE: ASAP
SALARY: $20.27/hr. (Grade 1) after 90-day probationary period. During the probationary period, the wage rate will be $2.00 less per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of one year of experience in janitorial practices.
Must possess the physical capability to perform assigned tasks, including the ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, crawl in tight spaces, shovel, work at heights of 15 to 20 feet, and lift/carry objects weighing at least 100 lbs (with assistance). Familiarity with various cleaning, snow removal, and lawn care equipment, as well as construction and maintenance-related adhesives and products, is essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Head Custodian in ensuring that the school premises and grounds are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Key duties include:
- Sweeping and mopping floors in designated areas.
- Washing windows and glass surfaces.
- Checking and replacing light bulbs as necessary.
- Assisting with the relocation of furniture and equipment.
- Performing minor emergency repairs.
- Maintaining and operating all required janitorial equipment.
- Assisting in emergency cleanups.
- Reporting any observed issues such as vandalism to the Custodian.
- Helping with snow removal at building entrances when needed.
- Supporting daily cafeteria operations.
- Carrying out any other job-related tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian or Plant Operations Supervisor.
