Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Technician to join our team at FastWyre Broadband. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing our telecommunications network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Network Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain our telecommunications network infrastructure, including fiber optic cables, switches, and routers.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair network issues, including identifying and resolving problems with network equipment and software.
  3. Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal employees and customers, including answering technical questions and resolving issues.
  4. Knowledge and Skills: Possess a strong understanding of telecommunications technology, including network protocols, switching and routing, and fiber optic systems. Be proficient in using computer programs and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Communication and Teamwork: Effectively communicate with customers, employees, and vendors, both verbally and in writing. Work collaboratively as a team member to achieve goals and objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience in maintaining switches, routers, fiber optic cables, and other equipment at switching hubs or central offices.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A strong understanding of telecommunications technology, including network protocols, switching and routing, and fiber optic systems.
  • Proficiency in using computer programs and applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with hosted PBX and SIP networking is preferred. Knowledge of Meta Switch, Calix, Adtran, BTI, and Infinera is also a plus.
