We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technician to join our team at Alaska Regional Hospital. As a Surgical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Operating Room, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our medical team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operative and invasive procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Prepare the Operating Room for procedures, including setting up equipment and supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Participate in safety initiatives to ensure correct patient identification and verification of procedures, and assist with sponge and needle counts.
- Collaborate with Housekeeping and Central Processing staff to clean the Operating Rooms and equipment between patients, adhering to facility policies and procedures.
- Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, and adherence to isolation procedures.
- Competent in the knowledge, skills, and abilities to fulfill the scrub technician activities in the Operating Room, as defined by AORN standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, nurses, and other hospital personnel.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
