We are seeking a dedicated Addiction Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at ProLocums. This role involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care within a collaborative environment.
Work Schedule:
The standard work hours are Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Responsibilities include hospital consultations and patient rounds in the inpatient psychiatric unit.
On-Call Duties:
The on-call schedule is shared among a team of six providers, ensuring balanced coverage.
Patient Load:
The average daily patient load is approximately 12 patients, with the potential for up to 15 patients for this position.
Patient Demographics:
Our patient population encompasses all age groups, with approximately 85% being adults.
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Support:
Yes, there is APP coverage available, including Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNPs).
Team Composition:
The psychiatric team consists of three psychiatrists in the inpatient setting, two in outpatient care, and one dedicated to consultations.
Supervision of APPs:
There may be opportunities for supervising an APP.
Required Qualifications:
Experience in a Level 1 trauma center is essential, along with a diverse patient care background. Required treatment areas include:
1. Anxiety Disorders
2. Affective Disorders
3. ADD/ADHD
4. Personality Disorders
5. Eating Disorders
6. Developmental Disorders
7. Psychotic Disorders
8. Organic Disorders
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System:
The EMR system utilized is EPIC.
Submission Requirements:
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Board Certification in Psychiatry is mandatory.
- A Connecticut medical license is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Describe Referral/Transfer (C/L) is required.
- Current BLS, DEA, and CSR certifications are necessary.
- A clean malpractice history and background check are essential.
- Local candidates are preferred, with no travel required.
