Principal Systems Architect

Draper is seeking a highly skilled Systems Architect to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Engineering and Enabling Technologies Division, you will apply advanced methodologies to develop innovative solutions to complex system- and enterprise-level problems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in model development, digital linking, and integration of models. You will work closely with senior leaders to analyze customer and stakeholder needs, evaluate technology options, and develop innovative system solutions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development of system solutions, from conceptual design to deployment
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to bridge knowledge gaps and meet customer and internal needs
- Mentoring technical staff and development teams to successfully work to deadlines
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with national experts in science and technology
- Creating and presenting senior-level communications for internal and external customers
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field; Master's degree or higher preferred
- 12+ years of relevant experience in model development, digital linking, and integration of models
- Experience with methodologies for trade space exploration and analysis of alternatives under uncertainty
- Solid understanding of data-driven algorithmic disciplines such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, numerical optimization, statistical and probabilistic modeling
