Job Title: Senior Digital Hardware Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Hardware Architect to join our team at GCR Professional Services. As a key member of our Harsh Environments Electronics Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital hardware architectures for cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate project requirements into well-defined hardware architectures
  • Design and develop instruments, including microprocessors, power, and analog components
  • Innovatively solve complex issues and drive project completion to schedule
  • Build and test prototypes, debug, and prepare documentation for manufacturing and support
  • Research and enable innovative solutions for cutting-edge designs
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to develop reliable, cost-effective solutions
  • Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction
  • Independently perform complex electronic architectures and designs
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in electronic design, microprocessor, or embedded computing
  • Understanding of design and general computer architecture
  • Ability to write detailed design specifications
  • Computer programming and coding abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent mathematical skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Master's Degree preferred
  • 5-7 years experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or related
Additional Requirements:
  • Experience working with and knowledge of trade space for radiation hardened parts
  • Schematic capture and board layout experience
  • Experience integrating and debugging embedded systems
  • Ability to perform circuit simulation using HyperLynx and ANSYS
  • Experience in Mentor Graphics PCB design flow preferred
  • Experience with Xilinx or Microchip FPGA/SOC design flow desired
