Brazing Process Technician

ThermAvant Technologies LLC is looking for a dedicated Brazing Process Technician to enhance our Braze department. This role is essential in refining our brazing techniques and ensuring the efficient processing of production components through our advanced braze ovens.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare, instrument, and load components into fixtures and braze ovens according to the established schedule.
- Conduct quality assessments throughout the operation, focusing on dimensions, cleanliness, fit-up, and braze integrity.
- Perform routine maintenance on ovens and related equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in identifying process trends and nonconformities during daily operations.
- Prepare and process metallurgical samples derived from brazing activities.
- Support the achievement and maintenance of certification/qualification for all equipment and processes.
- Contribute to the development and preservation of documented procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of brazing specifications relevant to the role.
- Ensure meticulous attention to detail and quality while adhering to production timelines.
- Promote safety and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Engage in inspections, audits, and the resolution of non-conformities.
- Utilize shop/hand tools, ovens, and other necessary equipment effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a positive work environment.
- Perform additional tasks as required or requested.
Qualifications
- ***Must be eligible for security clearance in accordance with ITAR and EAR regulations.***
- High School diploma or equivalent, or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001:2008, or similar quality management systems is preferred.
- Proficient in computer applications (Word, Excel, email) and possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Good manual dexterity and familiarity with general shop tools.
- Able to lift heavy materials (over 50 lbs) when necessary.
- Additional skills that may be beneficial include:
- Experience with material handling equipment such as overhead cranes, tow-motors, and pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of heat treating or high-temperature ovens.
- Experience with brazing ovens under various atmospheric conditions (vacuum, inert gas, hydrogen, etc.).
- Experience in a clean room environment.
Work Environment
- Full-Time position, 40 hours per week (Monday through Friday).
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Physical capability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
