Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in this fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, and process contaminated instruments and equipment according to established procedures
  • Disassemble and clean complex instruments, supplies, and equipment
  • Select the appropriate decontamination method for each item
  • Assemble and prepare instrument trays, surgical instruments, equipment, and specialty items
  • Determine the correct sterilization or disinfection method and follow established protocols
  • Document all activities related to instrument/equipment decontamination, assembly, disinfection, and sterilization
  • Observe and interpret biological, mechanical, and chemical monitors relevant to processing/sterilizing
  • Record results and maintain required records
Requirements
  • Certification as a CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from HSPA or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician) from CBSPD is preferred
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 months experience in a hospital or clinical setting may be accepted in lieu of education requirement
Work Environment

This is a night shift position located at the Richland Facility of Prisma Health.
