Position Overview:

Sentara Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Care Supervisor - Registered Nurse for a part-time role with rotating shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

The Clinical Care Supervisor is tasked with the administrative oversight of hospital operations as the designated representative for the administrator on call. This role requires proficient clinical expertise and serves as a vital resource for nursing personnel, physicians, and the community.

Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to ensure effective and appropriate patient placement. The supervisor will:
  • Make administrative decisions in consultation with the administrator on call regarding any potential or actual issues affecting hospital operations.
  • Coordinate patient care resources as necessary.
  • Float between units as needed, primarily within the Central Float Pool, to provide leadership and facilitate collaboration with various teams.

Central Float Pool:

This specific pool assists various units including IMCU, Medical/Surgical, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit.

Qualifications:
  • De-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to resolve issues efficiently and compassionately.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities through effective resource management and participation in achieving organizational goals.
  • ACLS certification required within one year of hire.
  • Active Registered Nurse Licensure.
  • A minimum of two years of acute care experience is required, with critical care experience preferred.
  • Leadership experience is essential.
