Child Life Supervisor Role at Commonwealth of Virginia

This pivotal position within the Child Life Team is responsible for overseeing daily functions, managing clinical responsibilities, and ensuring comprehensive Child Life support. The Child Life Supervisor upholds clinical expertise to assist pediatric patients and provides mentorship and knowledge to the team. In collaboration with the Patient and Family Centered Care Manager, this role plays a vital part in ongoing quality enhancement and professional growth.

  • Guarantees clinical support and aids staff in addressing patient and family requirements.
  • Oversees PTO, Kronos, Attendance, and daily staffing.
  • Facilitates communication with the Child Life Team, Patient and Family Centered Care Manager, and pediatric departments.
  • Works alongside the Patient and Family Centered Care Manager to assess the needs of the patient demographic.
  • Analyzes team performance and compiles data on pediatric patients served.
  • Offers mentorship and assistance to elevate the clinical capabilities of the Child Life Team.
  • Collaborates with Volunteer Services and engages in organizational committees.
  • Position Compensation Range: $59, $94,515.20 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: A Bachelor's degree is essential, ideally in Child Life or a related Child Development field. Completion of a minimum of 480-hour Child Life Internship is required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of inpatient experience as a Child Life Specialist with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity is necessary.

Licensure: Child Life Professional Certification and AHA Health Care Provider BLS Certification are mandatory.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role necessitates prolonged standing, frequent bending/stooping, and the ability to lift/push/pull weights between 20-50lbs.
