Sentara Martha Jefferson is seeking a Patient Care Supervisor - Registered Nurse for a Flexi/PRN, Rotating shift in Charlottesville, VA.
The Patient Care Supervisor plays a pivotal role in the administrative management of the hospital, acting as the representative for the administrator on call. This position requires advanced clinical expertise and serves as a vital resource for nursing personnel, physicians, and the community. The supervisor is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective and appropriate patient placement. Administrative decisions regarding potential or actual issues within the hospital are made in consultation with the administrator on call as necessary. This role may also involve coordinating patient care resources. The Central Float Pool at Sentara Martha Jefferson is specific to the hospital and provides support to our IMCU, Medical/Surgical units, ED, and ICU areas as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.
- Hold a BSN degree.
- Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to resolve issues in a compassionate and efficient manner.
- Demonstrate leadership capabilities through effective resource management and participation in achieving organizational goals.
- Obtain ACLS certification within one year of hire.
- Maintain a valid Registered Nurse Licensure.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
- Critical care experience is preferred.
- Leadership experience is essential.

Job Summary
Accountable for the administrative management of the hospital, acting as the representative for the administrator on call. De-escalation and physical intervention training required within 90 days of hire. BSN is a prerequisite. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to resolve problems efficiently and compassionately. Demonstrated leadership skills through effective work coordination, resource management, and participation in goal achievement are necessary. ACLS certification is required within one year of hire.
