Retail Operations Manager

As a Retail Operations Manager, you will oversee Partner performance and address safety concerns within the department and store in the absence of the Store Director.
In locations without an assigned Operations Store Leader, you will also manage the Gas Station and ensure the upkeep of the store's facilities.

We are looking for candidates who have:
- Completed the School of Retail Management (SORM) training program, designed for those committed to a managerial career in H-E-B store operations
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- A strong drive for financial performance
What does the role entail?
Management Duties:
- Utilize independent judgment to make employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions, including strategies related to products and departments, hiring, promotions, disciplinary actions, and resolving Partner-related issues.
- Monitor product integrity and ensure Partner safety
- Guarantee compliance with best practices and H-E-B standard operating procedures (SOP) across all departments
- Oversee the execution of Gas Station and facility maintenance processes (in Stores without an Operations Store Leader)
- Ensure that facilities and equipment are well-maintained and in optimal condition
- Monitor costs, benefits, budgets, and shrinkage
What is your background?
- Minimum age of 18 (mandatory)
- Completion of H-E-B School of Retail Management (upon hiring)
- 3+ years of experience in retail management
- Experience in leadership or management roles
Do you have what it takes to excel as an H-E-B Retail Operations Manager?
- Knowledge of product integrity, including compliance with federal, state, and company regulations and standards
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities
- Customer service expertise
- Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and H-E-B systems
- Capability to build, motivate, and retain staff
- Aptitude for managing multiple priorities and shifting focus between tasks
