POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Lead Custodian, you will be instrumental in overseeing, mentoring, and coordinating the activities of custodial personnel within municipal facilities. This role encompasses providing leadership and support to the team while engaging in hands-on cleaning tasks. You will report directly to the Facilities Custodial Supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The responsibilities associated with this position are diverse and include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Conducting regular inspections of facilities to ensure cleanliness and safety.
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair tasks for municipal buildings.
  • Managing custodial supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Executing general cleaning and sanitization procedures.
  • Implementing security protocols for the facilities.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Beyond the primary duties, you may also be tasked with addressing maintenance requests and overseeing inventory management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in custodial services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity. Leadership experience is advantageous.

Certifications/Licenses: Not mandatory.

Driver's License: Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license with a clean driving record.

Criminal Background Check: Successful completion of a CJIS background check is required prior to employment.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

Essential Knowledge Areas:

Proficiency in custodial maintenance and safe chemical handling is crucial, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Basic knowledge of maintenance practices is also necessary.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of security systems operations.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Capability to operate equipment and perform minor repairs.
  • Project Management: Ability to effectively schedule and manage operations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position primarily involves indoor work within municipal facilities, with occasional outdoor responsibilities. Exposure to various cleaning agents and fluctuating temperatures is expected.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly wage for this position is $29.62, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
