Business Analytics Consultant

The Business Analytics Consultant role presents a unique opportunity for analytics experts to lead intricate analytics projects and initiatives.
This position collaborates with a forward-thinking team to define and implement a vision for how advanced embedded analytics can drive Cigna towards its growth objectives.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will engage with business stakeholders to foster partnerships in analytics, develop analytical solutions, utilize data science and technological capabilities, and integrate analytics-driven processes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert leadership on complex Business Analytics projects.
- Conduct comprehensive data research and analysis to support business operations, including the creation of data mining architectures, statistical reporting, and methodologies to identify trends in extensive data sets.
- Exercise creativity, foresight, and judgment in planning and executing initiatives.
- Deliver thought leadership within Business Analytics while engaging in broader projects that require a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape.
- Implement analytics processes, ensuring that code is well-documented and comprehensible to fellow analysts.
- Analyze results and present findings in an accessible format, highlighting key insights, major questions, and subsequent steps.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of data and utilize it appropriately, ensuring correct sources and clear assumptions approved by the business.
- Bridge the gap between data science and stakeholders by understanding the impact of analytics on the broader business.
- Maintain and enhance analytics skills by staying updated on new technologies and modeling techniques.
- Develop analytical solutions that align with the fundamental needs of the business.
- Ensure that the analytical approach and results are clearly communicated to business partners.
- Engage in activities beyond day-to-day responsibilities, such as committees and volunteering.
- 3+ years of industry experience in solving business challenges through analytic methodologies.
- Proficient in statistical analysis using SQL for data manipulation and analytics.
- Experience in data visualization and storytelling, preferably with Tableau.
- Familiarity with supplemental benefit analytics, including Dental and Vision.
- Demonstrated ability to blend analytical, technical, and business insights.
- Proven track record in tackling complex problems and achieving exceptional results.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within complex matrix organizations and agile teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various partners across actuarial, medical economics, business, marketing, finance, and IT.
