Pharmaceutical Department Head

At Profluence Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead our pharmaceutical department. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the general functions of the department, including employee growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to provide high-quality patient care and achieve positive clinical outcomes.
- Supervise and manage a team of pharmacists and technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Ensure that all medication orders are accurately interpreted and profiled in a computer system, and that medication preparations are compounded and dispensed in accordance with legal and professional standards.
- Use independent discretion and judgment to make supervisory and management decisions, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability within the department.
- Develop and maintain an inclusive and diverse work environment, promoting cultural diversity and sensitivity training for all employees.
- Ensure that the department is equipped to meet the needs of the patient population served, with a focus on providing high-quality care and achieving positive clinical outcomes.
Credentials:
- Licensure in good standing by the appropriate state pharmacy board is required.
- A degree from an accredited pharmacy program or one that is determined to be substantially equivalent to a U.S.-accredited program by a certifying agency is required.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience in a hospital setting is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
