About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our team at Areté, a company at the forefront of innovative solutions for complex security challenges. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the development of physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis, working closely with our experts in ocean remote sensing, signal/image processing, and machine learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis
  • Collaborate with our team to design and analyze sensors, and develop detection, estimation, and tracking algorithms
  • Work on challenging and important projects in the areas of phenomenology exploitation, target classification, and identification
  • Contribute to the development of computer vision, image and data fusion, and image classification and automated target recognition
Requirements
  • Completed BS or MS degree program in physics, mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar language
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Remote sensing experience in Electro-Optics, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), LIDAR, or sonar
  • Experience with signal/image processing (detection, estimation, and tracking)
  • Computer vision, image and data fusion, image classification and automated target recognition
  • Physics-based modeling and simulation
  • Spectroscopy, data fusion, data analytics, or algorithm development
