About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Scientist to join our team at Arete. As a Staff Scientist, you will play a key role in developing physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis
  • Work on challenging and important projects in the areas of sensor design and analysis, phenomenology exploitation, detection, estimation, and tracking algorithms, and target classification and identification
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in physics-based modeling and simulation
Requirements
  • PhD degree in physics, mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Remote sensing experience in Electro-Optics, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), LIDAR, or sonar
  • Experience with signal/image processing (detection, estimation, and tracking)
  • Computer vision, image and data fusion, image classification, and automated target recognition
  • Physics-based modeling and simulation
  • Spectroscopy, data fusion, data analytics, or algorithm development
