About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our team at Areté, a company at the forefront of innovative solutions for complex security challenges. As a Scientist, you will be part of a collaborative team that values diversity and inclusivity, and fosters an atmosphere of continuous learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop physics-based software and algorithms for data analysis
  • Work on challenging projects in sensor design and analysis, phenomenology exploitation, detection, estimation, and tracking algorithms, and target classification and identification
  • Collaborate with a team of experts in ocean remote sensing, signal/image processing, computer vision, machine learning, and physics-based modeling
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in physics, mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience programming in Python, MATLAB, C, C++, or similar languages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and collaborate on small teams
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Remote sensing experience in Electro-Optics, Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), LIDAR, or sonar
  • Experience with signal/image processing (detection, estimation, and tracking)
  • Computer vision, image and data fusion, image classification, and automated target recognition
  • Physics-based modeling and simulation
  • Spectroscopy, data fusion, data analytics, or algorithm development
