SUMMARY

We are looking for a meticulous and skilled production planner to develop, adjust, and oversee production timelines. This position is critical in ensuring our products are manufactured punctually for distribution. The Production Planning Engineer's duties encompass tracking inventory levels, consistently updating management on production status, facilitating prompt product delivery to clients, and ensuring production orders are fulfilled on schedule and within financial constraints.

The responsibilities include managing the availability of materials and equipment, orchestrating production schedules, and monitoring the production workflow for any issues. To excel in this role, a solid understanding of material requirements planning is essential, along with the ability to meet production deadlines. The primary objective of this position is to maintain an efficient and effective manufacturing process that aligns with customer expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee production, capacity, material planning, procurement, inventory management, and scheduling tasks to enhance schedule compliance, customer satisfaction, and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate production processes and lead the production team to achieve scheduled objectives.
  • Drive the organization towards key performance indicators, including working capital, inventory turnover, days on hand, on-time delivery, and schedule compliance.
  • Understand departmental performance metrics and contribute to meeting these targets both individually and collaboratively.
  • Assess raw materials and equipment to ensure readiness for production.
  • Plan and prioritize operational tasks to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
  • Coordinate production activities based on material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Investigate discrepancies between inventory records and stock control, recommending corrective actions as necessary.
  • Utilize market forecasts and competitive insights to predict necessary adjustments in production.
  • Implement a structured inventory cycle count control system to uphold accuracy and integrity.
  • Analyze costs to ensure the production process remains within budgetary limits.
  • Manage material demand and flow through the procurement system, accommodating forecast variations and supporting business growth while ensuring timely component availability.
  • Identify human resources, equipment, and raw materials required to meet production demands.
  • Gather output data (e.g., finished product counts, defect rates).
  • Report production status and any issues to senior management.
  • Foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other departments to ensure operational cohesion.
  • Work closely with quality control, warehouse, and other personnel.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, supply chain management, business management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the solar or semiconductor manufacturing sector.
  • A minimum of 3 years of production planning experience in a manufacturing context.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese or Korean is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of materials and inventory management in manufacturing settings, including various planning levels from Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to production activity execution and control, transactional management, ECO implementation, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Kanban, procurement, warehousing, inventory management, scheduling, shipping, and logistics.
  • Familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes related to the solar or semiconductor industry.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.

  • Demonstrated experience in production planning within the manufacturing sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of production planning and quality control principles.
  • Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Technical expertise in material requirements planning and scheduling software.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all employee levels.
  • Self-motivated, capable of working independently or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and take the initiative to resolve issues and enhance processes.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
