Funeral Service Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Funeral Support Specialist to join our team at SCI Shared Resources, LLC. In this critical role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of funeral services and providing top-notch support to families during their most challenging times.
About the Role
As a Funeral Support Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting with various duties related to funeral home operations, including removals, casketing, and office tasks. You will also interact with families, first responders, and other professionals to provide excellent service and maintain a positive reputation for our company.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport deceased individuals from hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences to funeral homes or designated locations, adhering to local and state laws as well as company policies and procedures.
- Cooperate with first responders, medical examiners, hospital staff, and other professionals to ensure efficient and respectful handling of deceased individuals.
- Interact professionally and compassionately with bereaved family members, maintaining confidentiality and providing emotional support when needed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of removal vehicles, ensuring they are properly equipped and fueled for duty.
- Direct phone calls to appropriate team members and assist with general administrative tasks.
- Greet and assist clients, family members, and other visitors entering the facility, providing accurate information and guidance.
- Assist funeral directors with movement of caskets, dressing, and casketing deceased individuals.
- Transport deceased individuals to and from crematories, airports, funeral homes, and other designated locations.
- Perform various errands, such as floral deliveries, supply pickups, and document retrieval.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid state/province driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Customer service experience, preferably in the funeral industry.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize responsibilities.
- An empathetic and compassionate approach when interacting with families and individuals affected by death.
Work Environment and Conditions
This position requires working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions, using company vehicles to travel locally and occasionally out of state. Professional attire is necessary when interacting with families, while casual dress is acceptable for vehicle maintenance and outdoor tasks.
Salary Range
We offer an estimated salary range of $40,000 - $55,000 per year, commensurate with experience, location, and qualifications. This figure is based on industry standards and regional cost of living factors.
