Job Summary

Fort Bend County is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Juvenile Probation Officer I to join our team. As a key member of our Juvenile Probation Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community's youth.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct home, school, and office visits to assess the needs of juveniles and provide guidance and support to families.
  • Counsel with juveniles, families, and other stakeholders to address behavioral and emotional challenges.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to address the unique needs of each juvenile, including risk assessment and case management.
  • Prepare and present court reports and testify in court as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of juvenile interactions and case progress.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, social services, and other community agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to juvenile justice.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current on best practices and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as criminal justice or social work.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in juvenile justice or social services.
  • Certified Juvenile Probation Officer certification.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
