Position Overview

The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and efficient scale operations within the Transportation Department. Reporting directly to the Transportation Manager, this individual will oversee and guide the Drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Responds to customer service inquiries and directs calls appropriately.
• Effectively addresses customer requests and complaints, escalating issues to the Transportation Manager as necessary.
• Follows up on unresolved matters with customers, the Sales Team, and the Transportation Manager.
• Weighs all materials entering and exiting the facility.
• Manages scale operations efficiently.
• Handles all incoming calls professionally.
• Processes daily dispatch documentation accurately.
• Conducts all scale operations for inbound and outbound materials.
• Creates and maintains records for receivers and shippers in the database.
• Finalizes daily dispatch paperwork.
• Maintains and organizes all driver logs and reports.
• Tests and oversees the radiation detection system and log book.
• Facilitates effective internal communication with the Manager and colleagues.
• Demonstrates proficiency in all job aspects and aligns with company objectives.
• Understands and adheres to company policies, regulations, and training.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college education or a degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct customer service experience.
• Highly organized and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong mathematical and calculation abilities are essential.
• Exhibits professionalism in all interactions.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Proficient in computer usage and data entry.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy is required.
• Strong English communication skills (reading, writing, speaking); bilingual in Spanish is an advantage.
• Stable job history and dependable attendance are preferred, with references attesting to trustworthiness.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, background, and credit checks.
• Able to accommodate flexible scheduling as determined by operational needs.
