Position Overview

The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring exceptional customer service and overseeing scale operations within the Transportation Department. This position reports directly to the Transportation Manager and involves supervising and guiding the Drivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage customer service requests and direct calls appropriately.
• Address customer inquiries and complaints effectively, escalating issues to the Transportation Manager as needed.
• Follow up on unresolved matters with customers, the Sales Team, and the Transportation Manager.
• Oversee the weighing of all materials entering and exiting the facility.
• Administer scale operations efficiently.
• Handle all incoming calls professionally.
• Complete daily dispatch paperwork accurately.
• Conduct all scale operations for inbound and outbound materials.
• Create and maintain records for receivers and shippers in the database, generating necessary documentation.
• Finalize daily dispatch paperwork at the end of each shift.
• Organize and file all driver logs and reports systematically.
• Test and maintain the radiation detection system and associated logbook.
• Facilitate effective internal communication with the Manager and colleagues.
• Exhibit competency in all job aspects and align with company objectives.
• Understand and adhere to company policies, regulations, and training protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; some college education or a degree is advantageous.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct customer service experience.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in mathematics and calculations.
• Demonstrated professionalism and reliability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
• Competent in computer usage and data entry.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking); bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Stable job history with dependable attendance and trustworthy references.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, background check, and credit evaluation.
• Able to accommodate flexible scheduling as determined by operational needs.
